Our work is high-quality, detail-driven, and relationship-based. We take pride in accuracy, craftsmanship, communication, and delivering a finished product that meets our company standards from template to installation. We are looking for an experienced Countertop Templater with laser template and physical template experience to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who understands the stone and countertop industry, knows what needs to be captured during a template appointment, and can help set each project up for a smooth fabrication and installation process. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Countertop Templater with at least 3 years of experience in the countertop, stone, or surfacing industry. The ideal candidate must have hands-on laser templating and wood templating experience, with a strong understanding of countertops, cabinetry, sinks, appliances, overhangs, seams, backsplashes, edge details, and field conditions. This person will be responsible for accurately measuring and templating residential and commercial countertop projects, communicating important job details, identifying potential issues before fabrication, and working closely with the sales, estimating, fabrication, and installation teams. The right candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, professional with customers, and confident working independently in the field. Responsibilities Perform accurate countertop templates using laser templating equipment and wood templating equipment Measure and document field conditions for countertops, islands, vanities, backsplashes, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and custom stone projects Confirm cabinet layout, appliance locations, sink information, faucet holes, overhangs, supports, seams, edge profiles, backsplash details, and job specifications Review job details with customers, builders, contractors, designers, or project managers on-site Identify potential issues before fabrication, including out-of-level cabinets, uneven walls, support concerns, access issues, appliance conflicts, and layout problems Understand where seams should be placed based on material, layout, access, and installation requirements Create clean and accurate digital templates and physical templates for fabrication Communicate clearly with the shop, installers, sales team, and estimators Take detailed notes, photos, and measurements for each project Verify that all required information is complete before the job moves into production Help prevent mistakes by catching field issues early Represent the company professionally while in customers' homes, job sites, and builder projects Maintain organized records of templates, job notes, photos, and project details Coordinate with the production team when questions or field adjustments arise Follow company procedures for accuracy, safety, and customer service Qualifications Minimum 3 years of countertop, stone, or surfacing industry experience required Laser templating and physical templating experience required Strong understanding of granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, porcelain, and other countertop materials Experience templating kitchens, islands, vanities, backsplashes, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and custom projects Knowledge of seams, overhangs, supports, sink cutouts, cooktop cutouts, appliance clearances, edge profiles, and backsplash details Ability to read and understand drawings, layouts, cabinet plans, job notes, and field conditions Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable working independently and making informed field decisions Excellent communication and customer service skills Organized and able to manage multiple projects and timelines Basic computer and tablet skills required Experience with digital templating software is strongly preferred Valid driver's license required Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full-time position with steady work Support from an experienced sales, estimating, fabrication, and installation team Established company with a strong reputation and steady incoming projects Opportunity to grow with the company Professional, team-oriented work environment High-quality projects, materials, and customers Schedule Full-time position Monday through Friday Occasional flexibility depending on project schedule and customer needs Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced countertop templater who understands the industry and knows how important an accurate template is to the entire job.
