Job Description

Position:
Cabinet Maker Wyomissing Woodworks is a commercial woodworking business that fulfills custom designs for each client. We work together as a team each day to succeed and continue to grow. We are looking to add a cabinet maker that has experience in millwork and cabinetry. 5+ years of experience in cabinet making or woodworking required. In addition to a cabinet maker, we are also seeking to hire qualified carpenters to expand our installation crew. Individual must have experience in trim/cabinet installation. Subcontractors are also welcome. We are very fortunate to have long-standing relationships with clients. Our employees have weekly hours & overtime opportunities available to those who are willing to work more than the required 40-hour work weeks. Pay is determined by experience. Responsibilities:
Cabinet Construction:
Build and assemble cabinets, solid surface material, and other wood products based on blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, drills, routers, and sanders to cut and shape materials. Use hand tools to assemble and finish pieces, ensuring precision and detail in craftsmanship.
Installation:
(If applicable - Subcontractors) Install finished cabinets and furniture on-site, ensuring they are securely fitted and aligned. Work closely with other tradespeople (e.g., electricians, plumbers) during installation to ensure proper spacing and functionality.
Materials & Equipment Management:
Select appropriate materials (e.g., hardwood, plywood, veneers) based on project requirements. Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and used safely.
Measurements & Design:
Take accurate measurements and plan layouts for custom-built cabinets and furniture. Collaborate with clients or interior designers to understand design preferences and translate ideas into functional, aesthetically pleasing products.
Qualifications:
Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in cabinet making or woodworking required. o Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role o Proficient in using woodworking machinery and tools o Knowledge of different types of wood materials and their properties o Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings o Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts o Ability to work independently or as part of a team
    Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and drawings to determine project requirements
    • Ability to operate woodworking machinery, power and hand tools (i.e. saws, drills, sanders, and routers, etc) safely and efficiently.
    • Attention to detail and excellent craftmanship.
    • Ability to work independently & as part of a team.
    • Install fixtures, hardware, and accessories onto completed cabinets and furniture
