Steel Toes Job Summary:
The Production Operator is responsible for operating any process machinery deemed necessary by the Production Supervision in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for ensuring that company standards and production schedules are achieved and maintained with a targeted emphasis on continuous improvement.Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- At the beginning of each shift, with the help of the Production Supervisor, determine what job functions are needed for the day.
- Visually inspect product for defects and transfer defective items to the appropriate location.
- Load raw materials/product into machines and monitors machine for proper function.
- Mark off all the orders processed.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in assigned areas.
- Practice proper safety techniques by wearing proper PPEs and assuring that it is being properly used at all times.
- Follow all procedures and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all chemicals within assigned areas.
- Maintain proper inventory of assigned materials, equipment and other supplies necessary to the meet production schedule.
- Complete quality control procedures as required for setting up process machinery.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Satisfactory experience operating a forklift.
- 3 years' operating a forklift (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to lift a 50 lb bag.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job.
