Job Description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years.
NJFC operates three production facilities:
Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a seasonal Control Room Operator I to be responsible for operating and performing maintenance on machinery as required. Documents and records required data for down time, problems, temperatures, and production, including any information relevant to the respected area. This role will be responsible for ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices Policy (GMP's), Safety and Health Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations are being followed at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. Neil Jones Food Company Key Responsibilities:
Assists the control room lead in the day-to-day operations and understands the process flow of the specified machinery being operated; Hot breaks, Fencos, Evaporators and the Flash cooler. Ensures that the product being produced by Evaporators and the Flash Cooler meet the specifications according to the Manufacture Standard Practices (MSP). Ensures that proper levels and temperatures are recorded and remain within limits. Maintains all written production log sheets that are relevant to the respected area. Checks pump seals and cooling water as required, to ensure compliance of eliminating unnecessary waste.
Requirements :
Requires 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training in Evaporation or similar equipment or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires knowledge in the operation of all control room systems: hot breaks, Fencos, evaporators, and flash coolers. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform the essential functions. Requires Forklift certification and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
