Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Position Summary The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemical products. This role ensures the production of high-quality products at optimal cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Set up, start, and operate production machinery in compliance with safety procedures and ISO standards Weigh and measure raw materials according to batch/recipe specifications Load ingredients and pre-blended materials into equipment Monitor production processes to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate operation Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise Operate equipment used for mixing, extruding, discharging, and material handling Inspect materials visually and physically to ensure quality standards are met Collect samples for laboratory testing and assist with batch adjustments as needed Escalate production issues to the Production Lead or Supervisor Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery Accurately complete system entries and production documentation (logs, reports, etc.) Maintain data integrity across all systems Participate in training, retraining, and continuous improvement initiatives Follow all safety rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience (Preferred) At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following: Plastics manufacturing Colorant production Mixing, blending, or extrusion processes Industrial or mechanical manufacturing operations Problem-solving in a production environment Skills & Competencies Manual dexterity and ability to handle materials and equipment Strong quantitative and basic math skills Reading comprehension and ability to follow detailed instructions Basic to intermediate computer skills, including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Internet-based systems Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Conflict resolution and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Physical & Environmental Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands for extended periods Frequently lift up to 55 lbs; occasionally handle up to 250 lbs (with assistance as needed) Requires visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception Exposure to: Moving mechanical parts Dust, fumes, airborne particles, and chemical agents Wet, humid, and varying outdoor conditions Noise levels ranging from moderate to high Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may include: Safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes Dust mask, respirator, or face shield Hearing protection, hard hat, chemical suit, apron Work Environment Manufacturing plant setting Frequent exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment Must follow all plant safety guidelines and use required PPE at all times Reporting Structure Reports to: Plant Manager Manufacturing Manager Production Supervisor Shift Supervisor/Lead Production Lead Benefits Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical (Minimum Essential Coverage) Dental and Vision 401(k) Plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Equal Employment Opportunity Nesco Resource is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
