JOB DESCRIPTION
The position reports directly to the area Supervisor. Daily operation of precious metal recovery and Wastewater system, with a focus on safety/environmental compliance. Execute production to targets set by the Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct daily inspection of all related equipment to ensure line integrity. Operate equipment and produce to operational requirements. Operate and inspect wastewater equipment as required. Learn and operate any new precious metal recovery processes implemented within the facility. Adhere to all related procedures governing the platinum line. Understand and maintain complete compliance with company, local, state and OSHA guidelines in conjunction with the EHS, governing the production and handling of regulated chemicals. Measurement and reporting to wastewater as required. Ability to operate a forklift safely
COMPETENCIES
Chemical based processing work history/equivalent experience Math, reading, computer skills Must be able to safely handle acids and alkaline solutions. Must be able to understand and interpret procedures, safety requirements, general instructions, gauges and meters Willingness to learn, quality minded, attention to detail, ability to work independently as well as in a group. Must be mechanically inclined Knowledgeable in or willing to learn and operate wastewater treatment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
There is no supervisory responsibility associated with this role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is required to spend a considerable amount of time in the manufacturing facility and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to lift a weight of at least 50 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. Hours of work may vary based on business needs. TRAVEL Infrequent, however, employee may need to travel occasionally to visit other ELG locations, etc.
