Shift:
3:00PM•11:00PM SunCoast Blood Centers is currently looking for an Exceptional and Professional Component Processing Technician•I, which you will play a vital role in preparing and distributing blood products. This position supports our mission by ensuring the accuracy, safety, and quality of blood components delivered to hospitals and patients. Suncoast Blood Centers is the only local blood center that has been in the community for over 75 years. Providing blood services to many local hospitals and cancer centers in SWFL.

Inspect, label, and ship processed blood components. Quarantine components unsuitable for shipment. Ensure proper storage of blood components. Assemble and package blood products for manufacture. Perform quality control and maintenance; report malfunctions as needed. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies; report levels to department director. Deliver and pick up blood products, samples, and blood bank supplies as directed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Participate in educational opportunities, safety meetings, and organizational programs. Support SunCoast Blood Centers' mission, vision, values, and goals. Other duties as required to fulfill the organization's mission. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent experience. Two years of general work experience (healthcare or manufacturing preferred). Valid driver's license in good standing preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure. Basic data entry and record-keeping. Problem-solving and reasoning skills. Physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. Work Environment & Physical Demands Medium work: walking/standing for extended periods, occasional sitting. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and clarity of vision required. Exposure to blood, potentially infectious materials, chemicals, and mechanical parts. Must be able to work in confined or crowded areas and under varying temperature conditions.
