Ultra-Look Corporation manufactures automotive detailing chemicals and supplies. In addition to our full line of professional car care products, we provide custom chemical manufacturing and private labeling services. We are committed to excellence and quality in both our products and our processes. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Line Lead to join our Manufacturing Team.
THE ROLE
The Line Lead plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the filling crew on the production line. This position ensures efficient production processes, maintains quality standards, manages scheduling, and facilitates clear communication among team members. The Line Lead actively participates in filling operations while overseeing production processes. Although this position does not carry direct supervisory authority, it includes responsibility for addressing performance and behavioral issues on the production floor as needed. The role oversees both large-batch and small-batch fill lines and reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical aptitude who is comfortable working with production equipment and troubleshooting machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Leadership Guide and instruct team members on production procedures and standards to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. Monitor work quality and performance; provide constructive feedback. Operations Manage daily filling operations, prioritizing orders to meet production deadlines. Monitor and assist with filling equipment performance and actively participate in line operations. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance when necessary. Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate and work with production machinery. Quality Control Conduct regular inspections and quality checks with the filling crew. Ensure filled containers meet quality standards, including correct fill levels, properly aligned labels, and secure sprayers. Process Improvement Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality. Safety Enforce adherence to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and model safe work practices, including consistent PPE use. Communication & Reporting Serve as the primary point of contact for the filling crew, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of operational concerns. Maintain accurate production documentation and provide progress updates to management. Housekeeping Maintain a clean and organized filling area. Oversee and participate in regular cleaning and maintenance activities. Inspect equipment regularly and report malfunctions or breakdowns promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or manufacturing certifications preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude; must be comfortable working with, operating, and troubleshooting production machinery and equipment. Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment , tools, and mechanical systems preferred. Minimum one year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (chemical industry experience preferred). Experience with Inline or Apex fill lines is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, including scheduling experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to maintain quality standards and manage operational processes. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities. Strong problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Ability to move throughout the production facility as needed. Ability to operate manufacturing and plant equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, dispensers, and related machinery. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
