JOB SUMMARY
The Sterile Fill Technician position works under the general supervision of the Sterile Fill supervisor to carry out departmental responsibilities in the Sterile Fill and Capping department. Duties include the primary filling, lyophilization and/or capping of a variety of biological products, equipment and component preparation, and daily sanitization and sterilization. This position requires the ability to effectively multi-task and follow standard operating procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Capping and Bottling Product:
up to 50% of position responsibility Assists in the filling and freeze drying of a variety of biological products into various containers. Responsible for the capping and labelling of all bottles Ensures accuracy of information on labels Adheres to daily production schedule of Sterile Fill departmentSterile Fill Component Preparation:
25% of position responsibility Responsible for the preparation of glass and plastic bottles, and stoppers for sterilization Assists in the preparation of bottling equipment, components, and tools for sterilization Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Sterilizing all equipment for use: 20% of position responsibility Maintains daily and weekly cleaning schedule of Sterile Fill department Assists in the cleaning and sanitization of all bottling equipment and tools used by the department Assists in the cleaning and sanitization of all rooms, coolers, hallways and freeze dryers Other duties as assigned: up to 5% of position responsibilityEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment is preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, understand, and follow all standard operating procedures. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Beginner ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail. Excellent organizational skills and attention-to-detail Proficient in oral and written communications, both internally and externally Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations The intellectual demands, physical demands, and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Typical production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, some areas can be quite loud requiring hearing protection.
