Job Title:
Bioprocess Technician Job Description Perform duties associated with aseptic processes, weighing, measuring, counting, calculations, sampling, and verifications required for biological production processes in accordance with batch production records (BPR) and in compliance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards, all current safety standards, and site procedures. Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms is required. Understand the basic operation of production equipment and ensure all equipment, instruments, and production materials are released and available for use. Perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system and oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel. Conduct in-process batch quality checks per the written procedures while adhering to safety rules and wearing appropriate safety equipment. Maintain proper safety practices at all times. Responsibilities Oversee aseptic processes, including weighing, measuring, counting, and calculations. Ensure compliance with batch production records (BPR) and current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards. Operate production equipment and ensure availability of instruments and materials. Perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system. Conduct cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel oversight. Perform in-process batch quality checks according to written procedures. Follow safety rules and maintain proper safety practices. Utilize basic computer skills to create and update standard operating procedures and write deviation reports. Complete all assigned training, including general company procedures, equipment operation, and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology or a related scientific field is preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is preferred. The role includes overseeing batches, ensuring quality, and working with fermentation systems, vessels, centrifuges, and other large-scale production systems. Expect to engage in instrumentation and mechanical work. This position does not involve laboratory work and requires a larger-picture mindset, ability to think on one's feet, and multitasking skills. Employees will receive PTO and paid holidays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Dodge, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
