Works directly with maintenance, training coordinators, operators, production workers, and management to improve setups and operation procedures on manufacturing lines. Works directly with maintenance staff to diagnose equipment failures. Must be able to stay on task with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports operations of manufacturing floor by assisting in performing changeovers, set-up, and fine tuning of production equipment. Performs some preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of manufacturing equipment Completes light metal fabrication projects Must be able to use manuals and other resources to research setups and locate equipment parts to support production needs Operates hand tools and various power tools Uses all tools carefully as instructed Must be able to utilize the Maintenance Management software on a daily basis for creating work orders, inventory, and day to day work schedule Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical Works safely at all times, follows safety rules, company policies and GMP participates in scheduled training Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action. Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must possess a valid driver's license and have a strong mechanical background.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple notices and instructions, including operating procedures and safety rules. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have mechanical knowledge and the ability to train others in basic mechanical principals. Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices used in building and grounds upkeep and of related occupational hazards and safety precautions. Attention to detail, good organizational and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to work individually and in teams.
