Job Description

The Chemical Operator is responsible for running the entire chemical process throughout production. In this role, you are responsible for adding reactants to raw materials at the right time, recording key parameters, and monitoring the reactions. After the process is complete, you test the product for quality control purposes. If the product is made correctly, you will label the required packaging and use a forklift to transfer it to the shipping or storage area. You must also be willing to wear a full-face respirator to complete your duties safely. This position does require manual labor. Facilitate the chemical process, including adding reactants to raw materials and overseeing all steps of the reactions. Clean and flush lines, pumps, and process systems as needed to avoid contamination. Load/Unload Tank Trucks, Rail Cars, and trailers as needed. Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Follow ISO quality standards. Take samples of intermediate and final products and deliver sample to laboratory. Transfer materials from boxes, pails, drums, and totes to other containers. Use a forklift to move drums, totes, product bins, and pallets. Label packaging properly Load and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools. Makes simple adjustments or repairs, such as tighten valve packing, tighten leaking fittings, using hand tools. Shovels loose materials, such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers, such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels. Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Complete equipment safety inspections Report accidents, safety violations, and near misses Work independently. Shift 7am-3:30pm
