None General Overview of the
Position:
The production Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of plant equipment used in the production of fuel ethanol, biodiesel and co-products (distillers' grain, corn oil). This role involves monitoring process systems, troubleshooting issues and ensuring product quality meets specifications.
Specific Job Duties :
Operate and monitor plant systems including milling, fermentation, distillation, evaporating, and drying processes Control process parameters using computerized systems Perform routine inspections of pumps, valves, tanks, and other equipment Collect and test samples to ensure product quality standards are met Adjust process variables to optimize production efficiency and yield Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; communicate with maintenance as needed. Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures Maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift documentation Assist with plant startups, shutdowns, and cleaning operation Scale in/out dry trucks, wet trucks, and chemical trucks Load/unload raw materials and finished products when required Adhere to Department of Transportation regulations for handling and shipping of flammable liquids such as ethanol and biodiesel. Follow proper procedures for handling ALL chemicals Follow company guidelines for confined space entries, hot work permits, and lockout/tag out. Accurately communicate with other operators, maintenance, and management personnel. Participate in shift change information meetings. Follow railroad regulations in preparation for shipment of DDGS and Ethanol. Accurately complete all paperwork as assigned. Organize and manage time and materials. Participate in covering the job duties of absent plant personnel. To handle the control room for the process and respond to audio and visual alarms accordingly. Utilize time efficiently to maintain a clean and organized facility. Follow Emergency Action Plan as directed by shift supervisor or management personnel. Capable of assuming duties of shift supervisor while absent and handling all aspects of process control Train in all areas of process and running control • Perform other duties and assignments as required
General Job Duties:
Highly motivated, dependable, and well organized Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Ability to troubleshoot and make decisions to safely correct any issues Ability to work well in a small team environment and independently Must be able to work nights and weekends as part of the rotating shift The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds Must be able to work in and around conditions that may be dusty, noisy, and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions year round.
Education and Experience Requirement:
High School diploma or equivalent. Preference given to associates technical degree or equivalent experience
