  • Full-time Job Overview 6K Energy is a high-tech start-up focused on the application of 6K Inc's groundbreaking microwave plasma technology platform ( UniMelt ™) to develop unique, cutting-edge battery materials such as NMC, LFP, LTO, Silicon Anode and many more.
We are actively seeking team members who would bring a strong work ethic and personal integrity to our dedicated fast paced dynamic environment and are looking for an opportunity to challenge the boundaries of traditional manufacturing. 6K is searching for a Chemical Process Operator with strong troubleshooting and technical skills, who also has demonstrated hands-on experience in broad areas of pilot or production powder operations. One position is a regular workweek, Monday through Friday. We also have a position that is full-time including covering the weekend after an initial training period during the standard week. The ongoing work week is either Thursday through Monday, or Friday through Tuesday per the applicant's preference. Key Responsibilities As an integrated team member this is a vital role in support of our material development and characterization functions. It is expected that the individual in this position will: Operate, clean, and support maintenance of powder process equipment such as furnaces, sieves, mills, packaging stations and fume hoods Operate safely and independently on off shifts (weekends) Safely load and unload powder from various unit operations conducted inside of a dry room. Follow equipment and standard operating procedures to produce 100s of kilograms of powder Record batch data on batch sheets and production tracking software Collect, prepare, and log samples for quality control analysis Conduct safe handling, collection, labelling, and disposal of chemicals and chemical waste materials Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment, with strict adherence to all safety protocols Monitor equipment parameters and report abnormal results. Conduct basic troubleshooting Qualifications Broad chemical operation skills
  • the successful person will be a jack of all trades type Strong mechanical aptitude Basic knowledge of chemistry and standard lab practices 3+ years of prior related experience in a chemical processing or laboratory environment Can safely lift 40 lbs several times a day as part of job function Ability to work in a dry room (1% humidity) with a full face respirator or PAPR Ability to read, understand, and follow written operating procedures (SOP's) Knowledge and understanding of chemicals hazards and safety equipment; Ability to accurately document and maintain records, and communicate results clearly Comfortable with Microsoft Office and computer software (Excel, Outlook, Word) Familiarity with powder processing such as sieving, milling, spray drying, and classification is preferred• Familiarity with pilot lab, vacuum and high temperature industrial equipment is preferred
