Job Title:
Distillation Technician - Reaction Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Distillation Technician where you will be responsible for operating and overseeing equipment used in the distillation process. This role involves working with various citrus flavors to create essences, emulsions, extractions, and sprays. You will perform product inspections, provide quality control samples, and ensure accurate data recording. Responsibilities Operate and oversee equipment used for the distillation of target compounds and batches from specified raw materials. Complete necessary calculations and record various data points as required. Perform product inspections and provide samples for quality control testing. Check temperatures and complete batch records per GMP and SOPs. Input data into the computer tracking system. Comply with best practices and standard operating procedures while continuously improving processes. Essential Skills Experience in chemical engineering, chemical reactions, and compounding. Proficiency in batch making, fractional distillation, and steam distillation. Strong experience in chemical handling and mixing. Minimum of 4 years of tenure at previous positions with experience in high-level compounding and chemical operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School degree with solid attention to detail. Ability to learn unique, detail-specific processes. Comfortable using a computer. Previous experience in distillation and GMP environments is preferred. Ability to work different shifts as required. Work Environment Work in a family-owned company where the culture promotes a 'work hard, play hard' mentality. Employees are expected to be straightforward communicators, able to interact across various levels. The independent work environment requires smart individuals capable of performing calculations and managing documentation meticulously. The manufacturing setting is casual, usually allowing jeans and t-shirts as attire. The company hosts barbeque weeks during summer and bagel/pizza parties, fostering a fun and engaging work atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
