Weekly Rotating Shifts:

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our fast-paced, collaborative surgery center in Portland. ?? About the
Role:
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a vital role in surgical outcomes by ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. You'll coordinate closely with surgical technologists and OR staff to anticipate daily needs and ensure smooth surgical operations. ???
What You'll Do:
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization standards Monitor sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records Support the OR team by anticipating instrumentation needs based on the surgical schedule Assist with equipment troubleshooting, storage, and inventory maintenance Promote a safe, sterile, and efficient environment for patients and staff ?
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent Sterile processing experience preferred Sterile Processing Certification ( CRCST ) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire Strong working knowledge of instrument processing, infection control, and surgical equipment Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a team-first attitude ??
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally Exposure to biohazardous materials and sterilization chemicals Operation of autoclaves, washers, and standard office equipment Why Orthopaedic Associates of Maine? ?
