Job Description

Summary:
We are looking a Lead Custom Processing operations as directed by the Pilot Plant Manager for 2nd shift. Ensure that all shipped products are of good quality and all project documentation is accurately completed. Collaborates with Shipping & Receiving for receipt and return of all customer materials.
Responsibilities:
Participate in and supervise custom process operation and cleanup to ensure successful completion of custom processing projects and the safety of personnel. Review safety data sheets for all materials and process safety prior to running. Ensure team members' use of appropriate personnel protection. Lead and review custom processing protocols as needed for safety and collection of process data. Ensure the PDC personnel are trained in how to achieve the best performance of the machinery and obtain accurate and precise data for reporting. Pull and test production samples according to established protocols to ensure quality product. Inspect incoming and outgoing materials and supplies to ensure a high level of quality. Organize shipping with the Shipping and Receiving Department to ensure products get sent out in a timely manner. Conduct inventory regularly to guarantee all supplies needed for production is accounted for. Provide feedback to the Pilot Plant Manager on team member performance to aid in performance evaluations. Work and communicate regularly with both internal and external customers to understand and react to identified needs in prioritizing work. Write technical project reports for the customer. Maintain electronic files for financial audits, these files include Certificates of Analysis, Drum Lists, Technical Reports, etc. Position requires flexibility to work varying schedules, including both 1st and 2nd shifts, in accordance with operational needs. Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements Must be able to remain in a standing position 80% of the time. Frequently moves about inside of the Process Development Center to access machinery and attend on-site meetings. Frequently operating process equipment is used in addition to office equipment such as copy machines and computer printers. Frequently ascends/descends ladders or stairs during pilot testing. Frequently communicates with internal and external customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Must be able to identify process and material handling issues during equipment/process inspections. Must be able to push, pull, and lift-up to 55 pounds. Occasionally moves equipment and materials weighing up to 55 pounds in the process area for process needs. Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and work in these areas. Must be able to work in a classified hazardous area. Will occasionally works in hazardous areas. Must be able to travel to job sites if requested. Up to 10% of travel time would be estimated.
Work environment:
Promote good housekeeping and cleanliness practices in the PDC to ensure safe and professional work conditions. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for employment visa (H1-B) status.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred but not required.
Experience/Skills:
3+ years of experience in mechanical process equipment. 3+ years of leadership experience in a pilot plant environment. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 3+ years of experience in problem solving. Must be proficient in computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
