Sr. Downstream Processing Technician (NIGHTS)

Downstream Processing Technician Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Downstream Processing Technician to support the manufacture of Commercial and Clinical Biologics. The successful candidate will perform operations in adherence to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and engage in various downstream processes such as purification and filtration using HPLC. Responsibilities include managing mammalian cell culture operations, overseeing large-scale production bioreactors, and conducting chromatography. PAY - $32/hour Responsibilities Review all area documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist in the manufacture of controls and calibrators, completing batch records per cGMP standards. Perform in-process assays using spectrophotometers, pH meters, and clinical analyzers. Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals as required. Conduct product filtrations and clean/steam steel tanks (CIP/SIP). Prepare glassware and steel tanks for sterilization and operate the autoclave. Maintain lab equipment, including pumps, pH meters, and flow meters. Keep department lead or manager updated on issues and monitor lab supplies. Respond to emergency notifications and perform other job duties as required. Work flexible hours, including weekends. Essential Skills Experience in a GMP regulated environment and aseptic techniques. Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, operation, production, lab setting, or related field. Knowledge of cGMP practices, aseptic techniques, and chemical concepts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred:

Experience in a cGMP environment and a 4-year STEM degree. Subject Matter Expert on downstream processing steps. Work Environment The work environment consists of cleanroom/aseptic suites, requiring full gowning including a bodysuit, gloves, hair and beard nets, face covers, and safety glasses. The position operates on a night shift from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, with rotating 12-hour shifts working 7 days out of a 2-week period. Employees must be willing to meet cleanroom gowning requirements and be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs independently and stand for 80% of the shift. #stlsci Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St Charles, MO.
