Job Title:
Batching and Compounding Operator III Job Description This role supports day-to-day production operations by performing hands-on batching and compounding of flavor products in a regulated manufacturing environment. The Operator III accurately follows formulas, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) to produce high-quality liquid and powder formulations, while also supporting packaging and warehouse activities as needed. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistent attendance, and a commitment to safety and product quality. Responsibilities Perform small-batch flavor pouring and batching according to detailed formulas and production requirements. Prepare, compound, and blend liquid and powder formulations following SOPs and GMP standards. Assemble, stage, and verify raw materials for each batch to ensure correct ingredients and quantities. Complete accurate batch documentation, including recording ingredients, lot numbers, and production data, while maintaining strict formula adherence. Package and label finished goods in accordance with product specifications and regulatory requirements. Submit quality assurance (QA) samples as required for testing and release. Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance (PPM) checks on equipment and work areas. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other production equipment safely to move materials and finished products. Follow and uphold all SOPs, GMPs, and safety standards at all times while working around chemical, food, or flavor products. Support general production, compounding, blending, and warehouse activities as needed to meet production schedules. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator when necessary, and report any safety concerns promptly. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance batching accuracy, efficiency, and product quality. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Forklift experience or certification. At least 6+ months of hands-on batching experience in flavor, food, or chemical manufacturing. Ideally 1-2 years of compounding or batch-making experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Proven reliability and a strong history of consistent attendance. Experience following formulas, SOPs, and GMP standards in a production setting. Ability to safely handle chemical, flavor, or food manufacturing materials. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull up to 200 lbs with assistance. Ability to perform standing, bending, repetitive motions, and stair climbing throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Best-fit candidates have 1-2 years of true batch-making experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing. Experience with compounding, blending, and batch mixing in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Experience in food manufacturing, chemical mixing, chemical operation, or chemical manufacturing. Familiarity with batch mixers and other production equipment used for liquid and powder formulations. Comfort working with SOP-driven processes and maintaining detailed production records. Basic understanding of chemistry or ingredient functionality in a production context is beneficial. Work Environment This position operates in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with active production lines and material handling equipment. You will regularly work around forklifts, pallet jacks, batch mixers, and other production machinery, with exposure to noise, vibration, and moving equipment. At times, you will need to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment as part of safety and GMP requirements. The work is physically active and requires frequent standing, bending, repetitive motions, stair climbing, and handling of materials up to the specified weight limits in a fast-paced production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Concord, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
