Position Summary Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Senior Technician will assume leadership and coordinate activities of the roasting line in the processing of peanuts within the department and/or between departments. Position Responsibilities Assigns workers to workstations to meet production requirements as necessary and according to direction from supervisor. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevention of operational delays and downtime. Assists in planning of production operation, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Interprets process specifications for workers. Recommends modifications of existing quality and production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Observes workers to ensure compliance with standard operational procedures and guidelines. Monitors production and adjusts work assignments, supply of material, and machine operation when necessary. Repairs various machines. Refers extensive machine repairs to maintenance personnel. Confers with supervisor to receive instructions and exchange production information. Tests samples to verify products meet specifications. Periodically recalibrates equipment. Trains workers in equipment operation. Responsible for ensuring product meets or exceeds customer specification. Responsible in alerting Shift Supervisor if other essential functions performed by other employees are not being carried Perform other duties as assigned. This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air. Position Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Minimum of three years' industrial work experience required
