Do you have good attention to detail and a can-do attitude and work ethic? Then this job is for you. Assist operators in accurately setting up jobs. Instruct operators in correct snagging/disc operations to ensure proper technique is used to process production castings. Read flow cards and follow

quality standards and procedures. Perform inspection operations at set up and at various stages of production in accordance with

quality standards. Perform random inspections to ensure operations are being performed correctly. Accurately input data into the MRP system before and after each operation. Perform a variety of tasks that support the Snag Department in the areas of QC Separate, Snagging, Burnishing and Tumbling, and Wheelabrating. Perform routine operations to separate like parts or assemblies from mix into containers, visually inspect for rejects caused by blow holes, misruns, etc. Weigh count separated materials record information to go with each container. Move materials as required. Follow prescribed methods while performing such operations as removing sand, scale, or core material from castings by the use of the Wheelabrator. Make simple entries on supplied forms indicating such data as scrap, count, production quantities, etc. Responsible for adjusting equipment properly and to oil and grease equipment according to established practice. Move work from storage area to work area and finished work to designated areas. Use some judgment to follow prescribed methods in performing such operations as to tumble, burnish, etc., such parts as non-ferrous architectural, electrical, plumbing, marine, castings. Use care to load and unload barrels, add media, and water. Rinse and dry parts, separate parts, move parts and tumbling residue, and relieve barrel pressure. Oil, grease, and clean equipment. Perform a variety of snagging operations to process small lots of production castings and repair or salvage castings requiring added work. Work from flow cards, locate parts, identify parts, using print for part numbers as necessary. Set up necessary snagging wheels, abrasive belts, etc. Use hand air grinder with carbide or high speed burr for removal of flash in areas difficult to reach. Count finished material using scale and record count on flow cards and MRP reporting discrepancies to the departmental supervisor. Move materials as needed. Observe good housekeeping practices and safety precautions. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Attend annual hazardous waste training for instruction in proper handling of Snag Room waste streams. This position may be required to start at varying times based on the departmental schedules.
