Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for an exciting Contract opportunity in Neptune, NJ. Responsibilities Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment. Process surgical instrumentation according to departmental policies and infection control standards. Operate Steam Sterilizers, ETO Sterilizers, Sterrad Systems, and Steris Systems. Perform and document biological testing and Bowie-Dick testing accurately. Maintain accurate sterilization records and load documentation. Read and interpret chemical integrators and sterilization printouts. Utilize computerized instrument count sheets and tracking systems. Prepare and assemble operating room case carts based on physician preference cards. Coordinate with Operating Room staff regarding missing instruments or supply shortages. Ensure proper handling and usage of detergents, disinfectants, and PPE. Follow Universal Precautions and infection prevention protocols at all times. Lift, push, and pull equipment and supply carts as required throughout the shift. Maintain departmental standards and organizational competencies. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 5+ years of Sterile Processing experience required. Central Processing Course or prior instrument processing experience required. CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) Certification
OR CBSPD/CBSPDT
Certification required. Strong understanding of sterilization procedures and infection prevention standards. Ability to work rotating schedules/shifts based on departmental needs. Must be able to work weekends if needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to push/pull a minimum of 60 lbs. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting Operating Room case cart operations. Experience working in an acute care hospital setting. Familiarity with computerized instrument tracking systems. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume sterile processing department.
