WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
Saint-Gobain Wayne, NJ is looking for a 1st shift Flex Operator. Work schedule is Monday
  • Friday, 7am
  • 3:30pm Training will take place on 2nd shift, 3pm
  • 11:30p for approximately 3 months Will act in the capacity of a flexible production operator within Lamination/Slitting and Chamfering; able to operate all Laminators, Slitters, Squeezer and Chamfering machines.
Assume material handling responsibilities to help stage materials within the various Lamination Departments. Operator would be responsible to perform necessary work order and inventory transactions using the software control systems such as Eagle (via iPad), Factivity (MES) and QAD (ERP). The responsibilities of this position may change frequently thru the week in order to meet production goals.

Perform job duties within Lamination, Slitting and Chamfering to meet on-time production schedule and customer order shipment goals. 5
S Team Leader:
oversee Butler Building area in 5S process. Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency, and safe workplace. Exhibits safety awareness and demonstrates safe work practices. Daily duties are subject to change based on department needs and/or as directed by the area supervisor. Perform setup, in-process, and final inspection as required by SOPs and work instructions. Visually observe, troubleshoot, and report non-conformance conditions (either product or process). Maintain accurate inventory of materials used and finish product produced by accurately completing logbook information, production paperwork, and Factivity MES, as required. Slit Laminate materials according to SOPs, work instructions, work order requests, and/or special instructions from supervisor. Stage materials to the next operation when required. Perform duties required to Laminate materials Perform duties required to Chamfer which may include Calendering Operator would assist fellow operators when needed and/or directed by supervisor. May be tasked as the 5S Team leader to oversee Butler area in the 5S process This position would also include providing training for new or transferred employees under the direction of the area supervisor and/or engineer.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a technical discipline is desirable. Minimum five (5) years as a production operator in a manufacturing environment. Experience in Metal Manufacturing is required Practical experience and comfort operating and troubleshooting mechanical equipment. Previous experience and/or able to be trained to safely operate forklift, electric pallet jack, and other material handling equipment. Able to operate independently once appropriate training and direction has been provided. Must show self-initiative, be engaged, demonstrate open, constructive communication and work effectively within a team environment.
Be adaptable:
open to work extended hours as needed throughout the regular week. Basic command of the English language, written and verbal. Able to read, write and follow SOP's. Basic instructions of computer and software programs including Windows, Microsoft Office and Apple IOS is required
