Job Description

Process Technician The Process Technician oversees injection molding operations with a focus on safe, efficient mold changes, process monitoring, and quality assurance. This role leads and supports mold setters and mold chargers, ensures presses are properly set up and cycled for production, and performs daily documentation and reporting. The Process Technician uses strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment issues, adjust process parameters, and complete preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform hourly mold changes by safely unhooking old molds and hooking up new molds according to established procedures. Lead and oversee mold setters and mold chargers, assigning work, directing which molds to change, and verifying that die changes are completed correctly. Provide guidance and corrective feedback to team members and administer discipline as needed in alignment with company policies. Load dies into presses and set appropriate temperatures on the dies based on production requirements. Cycle presses to ensure they are properly set up and ready for production before releasing them to operations. Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately on a daily basis. Oversee process monitoring by checking each press at least once per shift, recording temperatures, and confirming that set points meet specifications. Respond to and resolve quality alarms as they occur, ensuring that product and process issues are addressed promptly. Troubleshoot and fix issues on molds and related equipment; escalate to tooling personnel when issues cannot be resolved independently. Adjust machine parameters such as temperatures, speeds, and other settings to maintain optimal process performance. Ensure operators are weighing molds and parts correctly and following established procedures. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment as assigned to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Work with vertical presses that move up and down, ensuring safe operation and correct setup. Type and submit a clear, concise report at the end of each day summarizing tasks completed, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented. Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and equipment performance. Maintain a strong focus on safety by following all safety procedures and contributing to a proactive safety culture. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Carey, OH.
