Position:
The Process Control Technician will be responsible for safe, efficient and reliable operation of the CRS Processing Unit located at the site. Will act as a key operations team member, directed by the US Operations Manager, providing essential and uninterrupted services to the customer on a 24/7 basis. Will work in cooperation with the customer to schedule and coordinate transfer of used fluids to and from the CRS Processing Unit. Will at times be the sole CRS representative to the customer, assuring all customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate and operate the Processing Unit to meet the demands of the customer's production schedule. Maintain 24 hours on-call duty, seven days a week except during scheduled vacations. Vacation relief technician will be provided. Sign all confidentiality agreements requested by customer. Develop and follow all applicable procedures and work instructions to comply with CRS quality, safety, and operational systems. Assure that existing procedures and work instructions are followed. Develop procedures and provide training on new or modified procedures or work instructions to ensure that they are understood and followed as appropriate. Act to identify and prevent problems related to existing designs, products, processes and quality systems. Recommend, develop and implement solutions through designated channels and follow up to verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions. Plan, file, perform or have performed all maintenance needed to maintain processing equipment in a safe and efficient operating condition. Program system computers for different fluid condition and quality objectives. Maintain all lab equipment to provide alternate quality data. Perform all laboratory tests necessary to provide a quality product and maintain the specification designated by the customer. Record and report daily all production, quality, lab and operating data, including inventory control. Order and maintain sufficient spare parts for reliable operation of the Processing Unit. Troubleshoot and solve all operation problems as it relates to quality, process equipment, controls, electrical, and computer. Maintain good communication with designated customer representative. Perform required inspections and tests of Processing Unit. Provide information for reports as required for local, state and federal authorities as required. Supervise all outside contractors hired to perform work on equipment provided by CRS or modified for use in the CRS Processing Unit. Take all appropriate actions to meet the corporate HSE expectations of "No accidents, no harm to people, and no damage to the environment". Attend CRS and customer training seminars as designated. Any training requiring travel away from the customer's immediate area will receive a suitable replacement from CRS during those periods. Provide guidance, as required, to customer as needed to improve operations. Maintain high level of technical competence in mechanical, electrical, control, computer, and OSHA fields. Perform other specific tasks that may be required and can be assigned from time to time. Some travel may be required to visit and support other operating units.
Key Management Processes:
While working under the general supervision of the US Operations Manager, the Process Control Technician will be expected to work closely with some or all persons (In-house and clients): CRS Management personnel Purchasing, Technical, Environmental, Safety, Quality Assurance, and Production personnel Vendor and Contractor management and personnel Incumbent will deal with technical, operational and customer service problems daily, and will be required to work with customer and CRS personnel on a continuous basis to manage, monitor and attain problem resolution. The incumbent will communicate with the US Operations Manager daily, will communicate and cooperate with all other CRS team members, and will be involved in daily operations decisions as necessary.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have: A 2-year technical associate degree (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical preferred), or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Preferable would be a minimum of 1-3 years' practical experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Industrial Plant or Refinery Operations. Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills, problem solving abilities, and computer skills (Windows and all Microsoft Office programs) Good oral and written communication skills. This position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule (maintain 24 hours on-call duty, seven days a week except during scheduled vacations). Must be able to successfully pass safety training exams, drug screening, and to obtain medical clearance for wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), when required by law. Working conditions are typical for a non-office manufacturing environment with potential exposure to heat, cold, and humidity. PPE may have to be worn at times; also, heavy lifting can be occasionally required.
Physical Requirements of Position:
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds over 2/3 of the time. Ability to lift, pull or push up to 20 pounds up to ½ of the time. Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Bending/stooping, standing and walking required over 2/3 of the time. Sitting and repetitive hand use required up to ½ of the time. May occasionally need to kneel, crawl, climb, reach with arms and hands, repetitive wrist use and hand use and climbing stairs/ladders under 1/3 of the time. May work with or near machinery, electricity power tools, chemicals and fumes over 2/3 of the time.
Environmental Factors of Position:
Will work indoors over 2/3 of the time. May be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold under 1/3 of the time. Environment may be dusty and have excessive noise up to ½ of the time.
