POSITION SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, the Process Engineering Technician writes documentation of processes and tools used in cable/wire harness, PCA and electromechanical product manufacturing and testing. Employees in this job class analyze processes, write documentation, and provide process training and work instruction to manufacturing staff. This job class requires knowledge of PCAs, electromechanical assemblies, adult learning processes and techniques, and the ability to evaluate processes, write clearly, and conduct process training.
TYPICAL DUTIES
1.
  • Analyzes and documents manufacturing processes required to assemble cable/wire harness, PCAs and electromechanical products. 2.
  • Tests processes and recommends improvements. 3.
  • Programs assembly equipment used in manufacturing. 4.
  • Trains production staff in product assembly and on the proper and safe operation of tools and equipment used.
5. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Denotes Essential Job Function
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of cable/wire harness manufacturing. Three or more years of experience in electronic manufacturing; Knowledge of PCA and electromechanical manufacturing tools and equipment; Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others; Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English; Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team; Effective customer service skills; Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software; Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associates High School Diploma or
GED CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Utilizing keyboard Viewing computer monitor and detailed work requiring close vision Assembling small parts requiring manual dexterity Lifting and moving boxes or equipment up to 25 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with forklifts and production equipment. Employees may be exposed to noise from equipment in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high heat, occasional fumes, toxic chemicals, and airborne particles.
