Description:
The Plant Utility Technician works indoors and outdoors and is trained in all areas of the plant. People in this position gain exposure and knowledge across multiple functions of the crush process with daily tasks changing depending on the business need. Primary Responsibilities Operate meal and oil loadout for trucks and rail. Provide a positive customer experience when interacting with internal and external customers. Work cooperatively with other departments and coworkers to provide breaks and assist with projects as needed. Communicate with Operations Manager and maintenance personnel verbally and/or through work orders, to address issues, or needed supplies. Participate and contribute in problem solving During harvest be available for extended hours as needed to unload grains at off-site locations. Operate scale and relieve scale operator as needed. This will require grading of inbound soybeans. Operate power truck equipment such as payloader, skidsteer and farm augers. Accurately complete all documentation required for tracking, communicating and compliance with SDSP programs. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Be a good steward of company resources Safety Take responsibility for maintaining, cleaning and providing a safe working environment. Perform the necessary safety checks to operate and maintain equipment Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule to SDSP sanitation standards.
Requirements:
Technical High school diploma or equivalent Effectively communicate with others by listening, speaking, and writing. Basic math skills Willingness and ability to learn all aspects of the job Premium paid for valid CDL Physical Ability to frequently stand and walk Ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb, kneel, sit, push/pull, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, and use fine finger movements Ability to frequently carry/lift light loads up to 25 lbs; occasionally carry/lift moderate to heavy loads up to 80 lbs. Working Conditions Works around moving machinery Occasionally exposed to excessive noise; marked changes in temperature; exposed to dust, fumes, and gases; drive motorized equipment; work in confined quarters; and work on or around high structures
