Job Description

What are you going to do We are seeking a Lease Operator II to support upstream oil and gas production operations in the Permian Basin. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance support of producing wells and associated surface facilities. This is a hands on field operations role focused on troubleshooting production equipment, responding to operational alarms, monitoring production through SCADA systems, and maintaining facility reliability during night shift operations. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in active production environments. Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate oil and gas wells, tank batteries, separators, compressors, dehydrators, and associated production equipment
  • Troubleshoot surface equipment and diagnose operational issues affecting production
  • Respond to alarms and monitor production performance using SCADA and field automation systems
  • Perform daily inspections of field equipment including pressures, temperatures, tank levels, flow rates, and vibration monitoring
  • Read meters, gauge tanks, collect production data, and maintain accurate production reports
  • Monitor and maintain production equipment including pumps, valves, flowlines, plungers, compressors, and chemical injection systems
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and assist with basic mechanical repairs
  • Perform gas testing and support safe execution of maintenance activities and work permits
  • Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities as required
  • Communicate operational issues, production changes, and maintenance needs with supervisors and field personnel
  • Maintain company vehicle and ensure equipment is kept in safe working condition
  • Support environmental compliance by minimizing spills, emissions, and operational risks
  • Follow all company safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives Read more Essential skills and knowledge
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in Lease Operator, Production Operator, Field Operator, or related upstream operations role
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting oil and gas surface production equipment
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and production monitoring platforms preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shift operations
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete operational reports
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be physically capable of lifting over 50 lbs and climbing ladders and stairways
  • Must be willing to work rotating 12 hour night shifts and respond to call outs as needed
  • Permian Basin or West Texas production operations experience
  • Experience with pumpjacks, separators, compressors, tank batteries, and flowback systems
  • Experience working in upstream oil and gas field environments with hands on operational responsibilities
