Job Description
Job Summary:
The Chemical Loader is responsible for safely handling shipments and transfers of raw materials, chemical intermediates and final products. This involves loading and unloading hazardous materials while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This role requires the ability to operate materials handling equipment, completion of accurate shipping documentation, and performance of any related work in the support of plant operations in a chemical manufacturing environment at the ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals site in Crosby, TX. Responsibilities Safely and correctly load, unload and transfer raw materials and final products with an understanding of the associated hazards, PPE requirements, and DOT regulations. Loading and unloading ISOtainers, tank trucks, railcars, totes and drums. Understanding and adhering to the standard operating procedures. Properly complete all required safety, maintenance, and shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading. Ensure proper placarding for outgoing shipments. Complete and maintain all safety training and attend all training meetings. Operate forklifts, fifth-wheel trucks, and other equipment Safely pull samples, perform basic QC tests, and understand how communicate or respond to lab results. Communicate effectively with other operators and supervisors using accurate and precise information Regularly perform housekeeping duties Experience & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Process Technology degree and/or relevant work experience preferred. Willing and able to work a flexible shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, and able to work overtime. Basic math skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a team, follow supervisor directions, and prioritize tasks. Lift and carry weight of up to 50 pounds between floor and waist height (equipment, materials, etc.) Stand, walk, and climb stairways and ladders as needed to move throughout the facilities.
