Your Role at KIK We are seeking a Chemical Operator 1 on 3rd Shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am, Sunday-Thursday with weekends per business need) where you will learn to safely mix, process, and package chemical products used in our production operations. Under the direction of a Lead or Level 2/3 Processor, you will follow batch instructions, operate processing equipment, and perform basic quality checks to ensure products meets specifications and regulatory requirements. What You'll Do Follow written batch tickets, work instructions, and safety procedures to measure, weigh, and load raw materials into mixers, kettles, tanks, or reactors.​ Operate basic chemical processing equipment (mixers, pumps, valves, filters, transfer lines) to blend, dilute, or transfer products as directed.​ Monitor gauges, meters, and visual indicators for level, temperature, and mixing conditions; promptly report abnormal conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.​ Take routine in‑process samples and deliver them to the lab; make simple adjustments to batches only under guidance once trained.​ Assist with packaging operations, including filling drums, totes, or smaller containers, applying labels, and preparing finished goods for shipment.​ Perform basic equipment cleaning, line flushes, and area housekeeping to maintain a safe, orderly work environment and prevent cross‑contamination.​ Complete simple production and cleaning records, log sheets, and batch paperwork accurately and legibly.​ Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental, and GMP requirements, including the use of appropriate PPE when working with chemicals What You'll Bring High School Diploma or GED. At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment. Ability to read and follow detailed batch tickets, SOPs, and Safety Data Sheets, and to perform basic math for weights, measures, and conversions. Basic mechanical skills and willingness to learn operation of pumps, valves, mixers, and other process equipment. Forklift experience or the ability to obtain site forklift certification. Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation skills, and a safety‑first mindset. Ability to work effectively in a team in a fast‑paced, 24/7 chemical manufacturing environment, including overtime and schedule changes when needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs (bags, pails, hoses) with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequent bending, climbing stairs or ladders to access tanks and platforms, reaching, and handling hoses and connections. Comfortable working in an industrial chemical environment with exposure to fumes, odors, noise, and varying temperatures (indoor and outdoor areas) while wearing required PPE (respirators, goggles, gloves, protective clothing).
