Position Summary The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work with advanced materials including thermoplastics and ceramics. The position also supports secondary finishing processes such as grinding and lapping.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines (mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment). Use Mastercam to translate from SolidWorks files. Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements. Select, install, and qualify cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding solutions. Run, monitor, and optimize CNC programs; adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed. Perform test runs and process validation to ensure part quality and repeatability. Machine and handle advanced materials such as thermoplastics and technical ceramics. Perform precision grinding and lapping operations to achieve tight tolerances and surface finishes. Inspect parts using precision metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, Keyence vision systems). Maintain accurate production records and documentation. Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams as needed. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. Qualifications and Skills High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or machining training preferred. 7+ years of CNC machining experience in an R D or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience machining thermoplastics and/or ceramic materials. Experience with grinding and lapping processes is required. Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC program editing. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and particulate from advanced materials. Handling of coolants, lubricants, thermoplastics, and ceramic materials. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. May require overtime, shift work, or weekend support based on production demands.BENEFITS
