Job Description

CNC Operator I Who are we? Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and Radio Frequency (RF) product lines. Why Ducommun? Inserts tool holders or installs pre-set tools in machine. Sets and sharpens tools as necessary Adjusts tool travel distances Writes, modifies and inputs required program instructions Monitors machine operations, inspects machined parts to ensure job specification maintenance. Selects from a variety of standard methods to inspect intricate parts Improves machining method and builds special form tools as needed Required Skills and Qualifications Experienced CNC Machine with hands-on expertise in CNC Haas milling (3-4 axis) Experience in aerospace, medical devices, defense manufacturing, and aluminum/steel components. Perform setups, changeovers, first article inspections Reading and interpret blueprint-based measurements while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. CNC Haas Milling (Operation & Setup) Experience with Mori Seiki & Takamaz CNC Lathes Experience with Fanuc Control Panels Reading Blueprint & GD&T Interpretation First Article Inspection (FAI) Utilizing precision measuring tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Depth Micrometers, Gauges and Optical Comparator Inspection Quality Control & Documentation Changeover & Tool Offset Adjustments PPE Compliance & Daily Machine Maintenance Required Experience and Education Vocational, H.S.
