Shift:

1st Shift / Mon-Fri (Saturdays as needed) Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Machine Setup Operator to join our machining team. This role is perfect for an entry-to-immediate professional who is confident in performing independent setups in HAAS 3-Axis Mills. While the primary focus is milling, candidates with eh experience in setting up HAAS Lathes will be given the top priority. You will be responsible for taking a job from a blueprint and setup sheet to a finished first-article part.

Key Responsibilities Independent Setup:

complete machine setups on HAAS 3-Axis vertical machining centers, including installing fixtures, loading tools, and setting offsets.

Lathe Operation:

(Preferred) Perform setups and operations on

HAAS CNC

Lathes Technical Reading:

Interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and job routers to ensure parts meet specifications.

Program Navigation:

Load programs and perform basic G-Code/M-Code edits at the controller if necessary.

Quality Control:

Conduct first-article inspections and periodic in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Maintenance:

Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant checks, ship removal) and maintain a clean workplace.

Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:

1-5 years of hands-on CNC setup experience (specifically in a production or job shop environment).

HAAS Expertise:

Strong familiarity with the HAAS Control/Interface.

Tooling:

Proven ability to select and set up appropriate cutting tools and work holding.

Math Skills:

Solving understanding of shop math, including decimals and trigonometry.

Physical Ability:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for the duration of the shift.

Bonus Points for:

• Experience with HAAS Lathe Setup (Live tooling is doble plus!)
• Basic knowledge of Martercam or other CAM software.
• Formal vocational training or NIMS certification.

Work Environment Manufacturing environment with CNC machinery, cutting fluids, and moving mechanical parts. Safety equipment is required.
