Job Description CNC Multi-Task Operator-Vertical (2nd Shift)

JOB DIMENSIONS

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, set-up, operate, adjust, and perform minor editing on programs regarding a CNC multi-task vertical machining center and related equipment; check work for conformity to work specifications and quality standards; and perform related job duties as assigned.

Reports to:

Machine Shop Supervisor Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and adjust program/offsets on CNC multi-task vertical machining center in accordance with engineering specifications, production drawings, production procedures, and verbal instructions; Check work in process for adherence to quality and production standards; Change settings for various production runs; Obtain and return work supplies from tool crib as needed; Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment operating conditions; Use hand tools as required; Complete accurate production/work records: May deburr parts in completing production work; Operate jib crane and bridge crane to load and unload parts; Familiar with hitching and rigging equipment and their use; Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES

Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:

Experience/Training/Education:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years recent experience and training in editing programs and setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC multi-task vertical machining center in a production environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques for operating CNC multi-task vertical machining center and related hand tools and equipment; Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices; Knowledge of proper fluid levels and coolant recovery; Ability to operate and adjust equipment control settings; Ability to check machined parts for conformity with work specifications and quality standards; Ability to read and interpret blueprints; Ability to operate computer to access, edit, and maintain company documentation and files, as required for assigned position and/or job at hand; Ability to communicate and work coopera­tively with others; Ability to use precision measurement and hand tools; Ability to operate jib crane and bridge crane; and Knowledge of safe hitching and rigging techniques to manipulate parts.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift, move, and carry tooling and materials weighing 25 pounds or less; Ability to reach equipment control settings; and Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; Reasonable accommodations provided upon request;

Special Requirements:

Job Summary :

Under moderate supervision, receives, identifies stores, disburses, and takes inventory materials and supplies; select, count, weigh-count, and deliver materials; assist with completing inventory records and entering computerized inventory data; and performs related work, as assigned. Reports to :

Stockroom Supervisor Examples of Duties and Responsibilities :

Selects, counts, weigh-counts and delivers materials to the various manufacturing areas and the Shipping Department in accordance with material requisitions; Checks parts for identification number and description for storage and material selection; Writes shortage requisitions; Prepares stock area and assists in taking cycle-counts and physical inventories; Assists in entering basic computer­ized data; Assists in logging and storing of materials, as received, from manufacturing, receiving, and inspection areas; May unload delivery trucks; May load (including strapping load down) and unload trucks that transfer inventory to other company locations; May pack parts in cartons for shipment, as directed; May assist in mailing and receiving areas, as needed; Operate abrasive saw, as needed; Cleans and maintains work areas, as required; Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

Some knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices; Knowledge of basic math; May require the ability to operate forklifts, computers, and weigh-counting scales safely and efficiently, following safety regulations and procedures, as applicable; Ability to read and interpret work orders and material specifications and complete shortage requisitions and basic inventory records; Ability to understand and follow operating procedures; Ability to inspect parts, materials, and work in progress for conformity with quality standards; Ability to efficiently operate equipment, including abrasive saw, and follow safety regulations and procedures; Ability to communicate and work coopera­tively with others; and Ability to understand and follow work instruc­tions.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to bend, lift, move, and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or less; Ability to alternately stand and walk for extended periods of time; Ability to operate a forklift and bicycle as required by assigned duties of the position; Ability to perform duties inside or outside, as needed for the job at hand; and Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.
