In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC punch press machines to produce precise sheet metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various fabrication techniques. Duties Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC punch press machines to produce accurate sheet metal parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Program CNC punch presses using CAD/CAM software, ensuring optimal tooling paths and efficient material usage. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC punch presses to ensure continuous operation and minimize downtime. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical drawings to determine machining requirements. Utilize hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement of finished parts. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for different fabrication tasks, including stamping, plasma cutting, laser cutting, and electrical discharge machining. Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or sheet metal handling tools for material movement and setup. Perform quality checks on finished components to ensure compliance with specifications; document inspection results accurately. Collaborate with team members in assembly processes when necessary, ensuring parts meet safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC punch presses or similar machinery within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Proficiency in CNC programming, including familiarity with CAD/CAM software tools. Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes such as CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, CNC milling machines, lathe operations, stamping presses, and press brake machines. Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings with GD&T annotations accurately. Experience with tooling selection, setup procedures, and fixture installation. Knowledge of quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances. Familiarity with hand tools, fabrication techniques, sheet metal handling, and safety procedures involving cranes or forklifts.
