Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Setup expert to join our manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This is a hands-on setup role for an experienced CNC lathe setup expert, producing high-quality, tight-tolerance aerospace, military, and space parts. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. Coronado - Serving aerospace, defense, and space customers for over 50 years Coronado has specialized in CNC machining of tight-tolerance precision parts for the world's leading aerospace, defense, and space customers since the 1960s. Our team of highly skilled mill and lathe machinists, inspectors, and programmers delivers tight tolerance, precision-machined, mission-critical parts delivered on time. Coronado operates out of our AS9100 Rev. D certified facility in Sun Valley, California, 3 miles north of the Burbank Airport.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup:
Set up Haas CNC lathes for complex production parts, including selecting tools, cutting jaws/collets, offsets, and machine configuration.
Precision Machining:
Operate Haas CNC lathes to produce parts according to specifications and with tolerances as tight as .0002".
Quality First:
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, comparators, molds, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve programming, tooling, and machine operation issues to keep production on schedule.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine maintenance, and tooling changes.
Collaboration:
Work with engineers, programmers, machinists, and the quality team to improve processes. Help train machinists.
Process/Safety:
Adhere to AS9100 processes, safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC programming or machining preferred. Proven experience as a CNC lathe setup expert, with a strong understanding of G-code and 7-10+ years of experience. Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with
HAAS CNC
lathes and tooling. Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
