Job Summary:
The CNC Operator works alongside the Manufacturing and Innovation team to maintain and operate CNC machines to produce parts, improve efficiency, and meet quality standards for our machining practices. Day-to-day, this role is expected to reliably plan, operate, and maintain the CNC production schedule. This includes tracking what was produced and the time it took, tracking tools and resharp processes, identifying adjustments required to programs, reading and interpreting blueprints, following quality control procedures to ensure parts coming off the machine are meeting the standard, enforcing safe practices and working conditions within the shop, and providing accurate input regarding machining processes to improve our documentation. Our shop works primarily with wood and acrylic using: Laguna Tools 5' x 10' SmartShop II Pro CNC Felder Profit H08 CNC VCarve for programming CNC files Fusion 360 and SketchUp for blueprinting and 3D modeling Fulcrum Pro as our ERP system You will join a small CNC team that currently includes 1 Operator, and you will play a key role in expanding out machining capabilities. This role reports to our Head of Innovation and Machining and partners closely with our Head of Strategy and Operations. Your onboarding process will consist of: 1:1 training with your manager and other team members Shadowing existing employees to obtain an understanding of any relevant processes Requirements Experience with machining wood materials is required 6
  • 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment operating CNC machines CNC certification or formal training Experience and comfortability with data input, tracking, and inventory management preferred Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace Products (Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.
) and ERP or MRP software Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, etc.) High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to pass a background check Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation Available Monday
