We have a small Machine shop consisting of 11 CNC machines. The lathe department consists of 3 machines. 2, 2 axis lathes and 1, 2 spindle lathe with y axis and milling capabilities. Our milling department consists of 8 machines total. Of these 5 are vertical mills, 1 horizontal mill and two 5 axis mills. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, while keeping up with production and quality standards. The Second shift Lead is responsible for supervising at minimum team of 3. Your expertise in CNC operation, tooling, and measurement will ensure that production meets the highest quality standards. CNC MFG is an AS9100D aerospace supplier. Duties Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Supervise a minimum of 3 persons running both mills and lathes. Operate up to 3 CNC machines simultaneously. Work in compliance with the AS9100D standard of manufacturing. Use Pro Shop ERP system to track workflows and parts manufacture. Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Change broken or worn out tools to keep work flowing. Ensure all other shift personnel are following company practices. Ensure all machining operations adhere to safety protocols while maintaining high standards of quality control through precise measurement and inspection techniques. Close up shop at the end of the work day. Requirements Proven experience running and troubleshooting CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc controls as well as Haas in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role. Minimum 5 years' experience working with CNC machines. Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups, machining processes, and machine maintenance. Familiarity with bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to read schematics, schematics diagrams, and technical drawings confidently. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to streamline production workflows.
