Job Description

Smith Precision Products company was established in 1938 and manufactures liquefied gas pumps and accessories for a variety of industries including propane, industrial gases, and dielectric heat transfer fluids used for cooking/heating homes, welding/food packaging, and testing for the aerospace industries to name a few. Smith Precision Products also manufactures chemical/fertilizer injectors for the greenhouse/agriculture industry. We are looking for a competent CNC Operator to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Setting up machines is required with programming knowledge optional. We are seeking long term candidates who want to grow within the company.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Operate and set up CNC single and dual-spindle Lathes (
Fanuc Controls:
Doosan Lynx 2100LSYBs, Mori Seiki, Hardinge) Machines, or manual lathe machines Operate at least two CNC lathe machines simultaneously depending on the operation time Operate Drill Presses and Gear Hobb Machines when needed Operate CNC Mills (3 and 4 axis) when needed Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of CNC operator experience is required Knowledge of machine set-ups is required Programming knowledge is preferred, but not required. Must know how to use inspection equipment (micrometers, depth mics, calipers, etc.) Mechanical knowledge of tools, machines and required maintenance Attention to detail Strict adherence to quality and attendance Willingness to learn and take on new challenges Able to lift up to 50 lbs when required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
