CNC Milling Set up Operator - 2nd Shift American Drilling Company - 2.9 Torrance, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $32 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Aluminum Dimensional inspection Process improvement Attention to detail Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Position Summary The CNC Milling Setup Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components. This role ensures machines are properly prepared for production, parts meet specifications, and processes run safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Set up CNC milling machines according to job travelers, blueprints, and setup sheets. Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, vises, and workholding for each job. Load and verify CNC programs , ensuring correct revision levels and tool paths. Perform first‑article inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools. Make offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality. Troubleshoot setup, tooling, or machining issues and correct them promptly. Monitor machine performance during initial runs to ensure stable, repeatable production. Document setup notes, inspection results, and job‑related information accurately. Maintain machine cleanliness , including chip removal, coolant checks, and general housekeeping. Collaborate with programmers, quality inspectors, and production leads to resolve issues and improve processes. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Qualifications Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines (Haas, Fanuc, Mori, Okuma, etc.). Strong understanding of G‑code , machining principles, and tooling fundamentals. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions . Skilled in using precision measuring instruments . Strong problem‑solving and mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift materials and tooling as required. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods. Lifting up to 40-50 lbs as needed. Working around machinery, coolants, and typical shop‑floor environments.
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
