Job Description

Summary The CNC Set-Up Technician is responsible for performing set-ups on CNC mills and lathes, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency in machining operations. This role provides technical support, training to CNC operators and assists in programming and offsets adjustments to meet production and quality standards. Location- Yorba Linda CA Mon-Fri- 6am-2:30pm $24.00
DOE Key Responsibilities:
CNC Set-Ups & Operation Perform set-ups on CNC mills and lathes to ensure accurate and efficient production Execute basic programming of CNC machines and perform necessary offsets Select, install, and align appropriate tooling and fixtures for jobs Conduct trail runs and first-article inspections to confirm set-up accuracy Assist CNC Supervisor with daily responsibilities related to CNC operations Quality & Process Compliance Follow production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards Verify results and confirm machining accuracy to meet specifications Identify opportunities for work process improvements to enhance efficiency Monitor machines during initial production runs to ensure consistent quality Documentation & Standards Confirm and maintain accurate documentations of set-ups and machining processes Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for CNC operations Maintain records of tools, offsets, and set-up sheets for repeatability Training & Support Provide training to CNC operators on set-ups performed Support operators with technical questions and troubleshooting during production Mentor junior team members in safe and effective CNC practices Machine Maintenance & Safety Perform routine checks to ensure machines are clean, lubricated, and operating properly Report mechanical or process issues to maintenance or supervision promptly Maintain in safe work area by following safety protocols and wearing proper PPE Collaboration & Communication Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and quality inspectors to resolve machining or set-up issues Communicate effectively with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery Additional Duties Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs Qualification Minimum 2 years of CNC set-up experience (mills and lathes) Knowledge of CNC programming and offset adjustments Strong knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, and set-ups procedures Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD & T (Geometric dimensioning & Tolerancing) Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.) Familiarity with first-article inspections and quality verification processes Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Understanding of safety protocols and proper use of PPE in a machine environment Willingness to train and mentor CNC operations Personal Attributes Integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and a focus on results Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team plater Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well with others across departments Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to solving problems Ability to stay focused and use good judgement in day-to-day tasks Company Overview Precise Aerospace Manufacturing - precisemfg.com Precise Aerospace Manufacturing Inc.
