Low Description:

The CNC Plasma Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce parts that meet quality, tolerance, and production requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and experienced in maintaining consistent cut quality and productivity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC plasma cutting machines
• Select proper materials and cut parameters based on work orders and prints.
• Operate high-definition plasma equipment using Hypertherm HPR400XD or equivalent systems.
• Monitor cut quality and adjust as needed.
• Check parts against prints to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect finished product to ensure specifications are met.
• Load and unload material and finished parts safely.
• Place completed parts on skids for transfer to the next operation.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of machining experience in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to hold tight tolerances
• Knowledge of plasma consumables and cut-quality optimization.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good time-management and production awareness
• Strong focus on safety and quality
• Must be able to work overtime when required.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands and characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and be physically active for extended periods.
• Lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
• Work in confined spaces, noisy environments (with PPE), and around manufacturing equipment.
• Visual acuity to read prints and inspect parts; hearing ability to follow instructions in manufacturing settings.
