CNC Operator (Machinist)

Job description: Gencor is seeking an experienced Machinist for in-house specialty parts build. Candidate will set-up and operate a vertical mill and a variety of machines to produce precision parts. Job requires someone with a working knowledge of CNC-controlled machines.

Responsibilities:

Review drawings to understand specifications of output Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job Take precision measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Requirements:

Proven experience as a machinist Experience with G & M code Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Good at math with analytical abilities High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift objects up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally handle weights up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access different areas. Requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and maintain balance on uneven or slippery surfaces. Needs to use hands for tasks like operating tools and equipment, using computers, and handling paperwork. Frequently exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and potentially noisy or hazardous environments with chemicals or moving parts.
