Savannah, Georgia Job Summary:
The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role involves reading technical drawings, setting up machines, loading materials, and monitoring production processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, etc.) to perform machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
  • Load raw materials into CNC machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
  • Monitor the machine operation for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Keep detailed records of production output and machine performance.
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with G-code and M-code is a plus.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (adjust based on company needs).
