Job Description
Position Overview Seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining equipment to produce precision, tight-tolerance components for highly regulated and high-specification industries. This role requires strong technical machining expertise, blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to independently execute setups, inspections, and process adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities Set up CNC mills, lathes, and turning centers for production runs Install, align, and qualify tooling, fixtures, vises, chucks, and work holding devices Load CNC programs and perform offsets and minor program adjustments as needed Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, customer drawings, and work instructions Conduct first-piece inspections and verify conformance to specifications Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators Monitor machining operations and adjust offsets to maintain quality standards Troubleshoot tooling, machine, and process issues to reduce downtime Verify feeds, speeds, tooling life, and cutting conditions Complete required production and quality documentation accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Collaborate with programmers, engineers, quality personnel, and supervisors to improve processes and resolve issues Required Qualifications 3+ years of CNC machining experience 3+ years of blueprint reading experience Experience setting up CNC machining centers and/or lathes Ability to hold tight tolerances Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Experience using precision measuring instruments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-axis machining Experience with program edits and offset adjustments Background in aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing Experience with complex setups and short-run production environments Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift tooling, fixtures, and materials as required Comfortable working around CNC machinery and manufacturing environments Ability to perform repetitive precision inspection tasks Please send all resumes to sabrina.pike@gogpac.com.
