Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC vertical machining center set up/operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machines, specifically vertical machining centers, specifically HASS VM, and possess strong technical skills. 5th axis experience is a plus. As a CNC vertical machining center setup/operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating vertical mills to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Duties:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical machining center machines to produce parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
  • Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Be able to work independently in a small shop environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience programing, setting up, and operating CNC vertical machining centers
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Familiarity with CAM programming is a plus
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining principles
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred
  • Ability to operate a forklift for material handling purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
