In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations on CNC milling machines and lathes, utilizing advanced programming skills and mechanical knowledge. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, contribute to lean manufacturing processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality in a fast-paced environment. Duties Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to set up CNC machines accurately. Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, such as SolidWorks or CAD tools, ensuring precise machining operations. Prepare and install tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools on CNC milling machines and lathes, including Fanuc controls. Conduct machine setups by calibrating with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Perform routine machine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to optimize machining processes while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed setup documentation, logs, and quality records for traceability and continuous improvement initiatives. Support manufacturing processes involving plastics injection molding, welding, assembly, or the use of power tools as needed to meet production goals. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes or milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong background in CNC programming and CAM software utilization. Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawing interpretation. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments. Experience working with Fanuc or similar CNC control systems preferred. Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, welding equipment, forklifts, and other manufacturing tools in a lean manufacturing environment.
