at QPS Employment Group in Quincy, Illinois, United States Job Description Looking to start a hands-on career in manufacturing with room to grow? We are seeking a motivated CNC Setup Trainee to join a great team! This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn CNC set-up and production processes. You'll work with wire-forming CNC machines, learn tooling and setup procedures, read shop drawings and measuring tools, and play a key role in producing high-quality parts. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and learning valuable technical skills in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you! CNC Machine Setup Trainee Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with setting up CNC machines to run production parts according to work instructions and specifications.
  • Change wire sizes as needed and straighten wire after installation on CNC machinery.
  • Remove and install tooling required to manufacture parts correctly.
  • Program or assist with programming CNC machines to produce parts to required dimensions and specifications.
  • Read and interpret dimensional drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Use measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, and gauges to verify product dimensions and quality standards.
  • Operate secondary equipment as needed to complete the forming and finishing process of manufactured parts.
  • Work closely with quality personnel to verify parts meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify quality concerns, tooling issues, or production problems.
  • Complete production paperwork and required documentation accurately.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines.
