You dial in a Mazak or Doosan, confirm offsets, and run the first-piece to spec. You fine-tune an INDEX or Nakamura, update the program, and coach an operator through a tricky changeover. By the end of the day, machines are humming, documentation is complete, and production goals are on track. Your Impact Own end-to-end CNC setups on lathes and mills (Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX, Nakamuras), including advanced adjustments, calibrations, and verifications. Develop, refine, and sustain CNC programs, fixturing, tooling, and standardized setup documentation to drive throughput and repeatability. Troubleshoot complex issues to cut downtime and stabilize processes; collaborate across shifts as needed. Perform setups in your area and support operators/tenders during changeovers and production. Verify quality in-process using micrometers, calipers, and gauges; execute first-article inspections and complete all quality/production paperwork. Capture accurate material, performance, and output data in the ERP system; maintain traceability. Coach and assist CNC Operators and Tenders on setup steps, best practices, and problem-solving. Train operators/tenders on parts, procedures, and safety to sustain on-time delivery and quality KPIs. Lead continuous improvement to reduce setup time, elevate rates, refine machining methods, and enhance quality and safety. Partner with fellow Setup Technicians and Engineering to optimize programs, tooling paths, and workholding. Keep setup sheets, monitoring logs, and process documents current and accessible. Oversee scrap processes for assigned facilities, ensuring proper documentation and controls. Complete daily preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and assist Maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime. Champion safety, PPE use, and 5S—maintain a clean, orderly work area. Perform basic machine maintenance and support advanced tasks when requested. Float between CNC assets to keep production moving where demand is highest. Collaborate with the Production Supervisor (direct report) and Production Lead (indirect) to align on goals and priorities. Take on other duties as needed to meet business requirements. Work Environment and Physical Demands Manufacturing setting with frequent material handling up to 50 lbs and occasional lifts up to 75 lbs. Regular hand/finger use for adjustments; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Safety glasses and steel-toe boots/shoes are required around operating machinery. Schedule Full-time, typically Monday-Friday, approximately 8 hours per day (40+ hours/week). Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work may be required to meet demand.
Compensation Hiring pay range:
$25-$37.50, determined by market conditions and individual factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and certifications.

Comfort with precision metrology:
