Job Description

Unique Opportunity with Globally Recognized Manufacturing Firm Kitagawa-NorthTech, Inc ., is a well-respected and dynamic manufacturing organization located in Schaumburg, Illinois. For over 50 years, Kitagawa workholding products have inspired trust and confidence with machine tool dealers and customers across the globe. Dating back to 1967 when Kitagawa introduced the first Power Chuck, Kitagawa workholding products have stood the test of time. This job opening represents an outstanding opportunity for the right person to join Kitagawa NorthTech, Inc. and play a key role in our continued success. Position Summary The CNC Machinist (lathe operator) will be responsible for the full process of machining, from interpreting blueprints and setting up machines to programming, operating, and performing quality inspections to tight tolerances. Experience with Mazatrol conversational programming is strongly preferred.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
SetupOperation:
Perform complex setups and operate CNC lathes.
Programming:
Write, edit, and revise NC/CNC programs using G-Code or conversational control (Mazatrol preferred) to eliminate errors.
ToolingMaintenance:
Machine/install chuck jaws, insert tooling in turrets, and perform regular preventative maintenance on machine tools.
Quality Control:
Inspect own work and others' work for correct dimensions using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to standards.
Troubleshooting:
Adjust offset coordinates to compensate for material or tool conditions.
Workflow:
Work from process sheets, blueprints, and setup cards; manage multiple machines when required.
QualificationsRequirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience operating a lathe (Set-up and Operation).
Programming:
Proficiency in G-Code required; Mazatrol experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read/interpret metric blueprints, process sheets, and setup sheets.
Tools:
Experience using hand tools, manual machines and metric measuring instruments.
Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree/certification is a plus.
